A relaxing itinerary a long way from the noise of the city as you discover the north Lagoon and its most famous islands: Murano, Burano and Torcello. Engulf yourself in interesting but relaxing ½ day of beautiful scenery, stunning hand blown glass and step back into times gone by.Leaving by motorboat, you sail past the island of S.Giorgio Maggiore, the Lido famous for its beach and you arrive at Murano, famous for its glassworks. Here, you can admire expert glass-makers at work in a real glass factory.
Go further to the north to Burano which is a fishermen’s island with brightly-coloured houses and which, still today, is famous for the handicraft production of lace, the technique for which is inspired by the weaving of the fishing nets.
Finally you go to the nearby Torcello, where time seems to have stood still. The island is now almost uninhabited, covered by a rich typical vegetation of the lagoon. The island still has the lagoon’s oldest monument, the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and Attila’s famous throne.
